The Tank Museum on their annual TankFest weekend brought history to life, with the world’s best collection of tanks, re-enactment organisations, exhibits , a couple of wonderful watering holes to keep you refreshed and plenty of stalls selling their wares. There was live displays. The exhibitions on the day told the story of armoured warfare spanning over 100 years of history. Exploring eight powerful exhibitions, you came face to face with almost 300 armoured vehicles. The weekend was fantastic. The weather was superb, really hot on the Friday & Saturday but a little overcast on the Sunday.

I must say I was very disappointed at the exclusion of any German troops. With just the German Home Guard in attendance. I can understand having no SS but to exclude the ordinary German soldier ( re-enactor ) is a poor decision in my opinion. I hope common sense is restored for next year.

Its taken quite some time to pick out the ones best suited and edit them as best we can for the site. Hayley and I really hope you enjoy browsing through them and look forward to hearing anything you would like to say about the collection.
